For immediate release

Amazon Prime Video announces today that it will launch the Amazon Original docu-series Varane, Destin de Champion – a new series about the life on and off the pitch of Raphaël Varane, crowned world champion in 2018 and one of the leading faces of the successful generation of French football players reigning over Europe. This docu-series, exclusively available later in 2019 on Amazon Prime Video in XXXX, is produced by Federation Entertainment and Yvette Production, directed by Théo Schuster, written by Emmanuel Le Ber and Théo Schuster, who are the team behind the critically acclaimed Les Bleus 2018, au Coeur de l’Epopée Russe which are also available exclusively on Amazon’s video streaming service.

Varane, Destin de Champion, is a unique behind-the-scenes look at the career and incredible rise to fame of a player who joined Real Madrid, the World’s biggest football club at only 18 years old, and has won every major trophy by the age of 26.

This docu-series provides an unprecedented access to unseen archives, from his early days in Lille and first games with the CRAFF Lievin, to his first games with RC Lens and his adventure and successes with the French national team and Real Madrid. The show features interviews from his team mates, friends and coaches, including but not limited to Paul Pogba, Kylian Mbappé, Karim Benzema, Zinedine Zidane and Didier Deschamps. The player himself reveals his own view of his incredibly successful career so far, how he “knew” France would win the tournament in Russia several days before the final, what makes him different and how he’s planning what’s coming next. In this 3-part intimate and premium series, Raphael Varane also shows a more personal side of him and notably his relationship with his son and family, as well as his brother who has always played a key role in his determination to become the player he is today.

I am very happy that this docu-series is exclusively available on Prime Video. A football player’s life is so much more complex than what is shown during games. Destin de Champion is my story and gives every Prime member a unique vision of the man and footballer I’ve become today” declares Raphaël Varane.

Varane, Destin de Champion” will be available in 2019 exclusively for Prime members.
