Paris – December 18th, 2016
Authentic Prod (Sam) and Federation Entertainment (Marseille, The Bureau) have finalised a deal with French publishing house Presses de la Cité, securing TV rights to Michel Bussi’s latest novel Le Temps est Assassin (Time is a Killer), which has already sold 220,000 copies since it launched just a few months ago.
Aline Besson and Isabelle Drong (Authentic Prod) and Pascal Breton (Federation Entertainment) will coproduce the project, which they plan to adapt as an 8×52’ event mini-series.
A high-profile cast has confirmed interest in this modern day saga-like thriller which is set against the backdrop of the Corsican landscape, which brings to life Michel Bussi’s gripping narrative.
Le Temps est Assassin follows the destiny of a modern woman, Clotilde. The sole survivor of a tragic accident that cost the life of her brother and their parents in Corsica when she was 15, Clotilde returns to the Mediterranean island many years later with her husband Franck and her daughter Valentine, herself now aged 15. But soon after arriving, Clotilde receives a letter from her mother, Palma, who was presumed dead in the accident…
Le Temps est Assassin is a gripping and breathtaking psychological suspense thriller which creatively interweaves two eras. Danger lurks throughout the course of Clotilde’s investigation, as she delves deeper into the lives of her grandparents, neighbours, old friends and lovers, and her old diary, and other dark places until she finds the true source of evil and maybe then she can piece together her fragmented life and future in Corsica.
As coproducer and international distributor, Federation Entertainment will bring the international dimension to this prestige mini-series.
Pascal Breton and Aline Besson once again join forces, having already co-produced the TV series Dolmen, the biggest French drama hit in the past 12 years, with an average of 12 viewers per episode.
