The Masters of Rome

Brought to you by Lucky You - A Federation label

In 1513, the city of Rome welcomed a new Pope, Leo X. He took power over the Eternal City, which was undergoing a major urban transformation. Many artists were busy with this colossal construction project. Three great masters of painting were to be found in the same city at the same time: Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael and Michelangelo. For the first time, the three painters produced in Rome the works that would become the most famous works of art in history. Discover 1513, the most flourishing year of the Italian Renaissance.
