Federation International secures key international sales for THOSE WHO LIVED, the event mini-series by Oscar-winning director Jean-Xavier de Lestrade about survivors of the terrorist attacks at the Bataclan in Paris.

Federation International, the distribution arm of Federation Studios, has recently secured major international sales for Those who lived, a high-end drama series for France Télévisions by Oscar-winning director Jean-Xavier de Lestrade (Murder on a Sunday morning, The Staircase, Samber).

Aired on France 2 at the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the 2015 Paris Attacks, the acclaimed 8 X 1 hour series gathered amazing reviews and achieved very high performances on France TV and its streaming platform fance.tv with an impressive 13M of views in total.

Federation International has recently closed deals with Movistar (Spain), Nos Lusomundo (Portugal), HOT (Israel) and Silver Box (CEI), following on previous deals with HBO Max (France), Nova (Greece), SVT (Sweden) and RTS (Switzerland). Further deals are currently underway in other key territories.

For the record, Those who lived was commissioned by France Télévisions and presold to RTBF (Belgium).

Those who lived focuses on seven survivors held hostages during the Paris attacks of 2015 at the Bataclan, who went on to form a unique friendship as they rebuilt their lives after the trauma. The series follows their powerful and moving reconstruction journeys over the course of several years.

The series is produced by What’s Up Films (Matthieu Belghiti), Mizar Films (Nicolas Mauvernay) and NAC Films (Jérôme Corcos). It is written by Jean-Xavier de Lestrade and Antoine Lacomblez, and starring a A-list cast including Benjamin Lavernhe de la Comédie-Française, Alix Poisson, Antoine Reinartz, Félix Moati, Anne Steffens, Thomas Goldberg, Cédric Eeckhout, Megan Northam…

Federation International handles worldwide rights to the series, which is the latest in a highly successful collaboration between Federation International, and What’s Up Films and Jean-Xavier de Lestrade. Their previous series, the masterpiece Sambre, enjoyed exceptional popularity and was a massive international sales success. For the record, Sambre ranks among the top three most exported French series in 2024 (source: Unifrance / export awards).
