Federation International, the distribution arm of Federation Studios, has acquired international rights to THE SHIFT, a remarkable 6×45 mins police drama produced by Alva Film for RTS under the original title UNIFORMES.
THE SHIFT has just achieved a historic viewership record, becoming the third most-watched series ever produced by RTS, behind Banking District and Winter Palace. It is currently available on Play-RTS following its broadcast on RTS1 from April 26 to May 10.
The series blends emotion, humor, and dramatic tension to reveal the men and women behind the uniforms. It digs into the mechanisms that lead a cop’s unit to tragedy -routine, egos, exhaustion, collective responsibility- while unraveling the bonds that unite a group of police officers facing their own limits.
Synopsis: When a routine intervention spirals out of control, a police officer is critically wounded by a violent husband he was apprehending. As Internal Affairs launches an investigation, his colleagues must answer for every decision they made that night. The interrogations take their toll, forcing the officers to question not only their actions on the job, but who they are behind the badge.
Filmed in Geneva over the last summer, THE SHIFT features an 5-stars cast led by Kacey Mottet Klein (two Cesar Award nominations for his leading roles in Ursula Meier and André Téchiné’s theatrical movies), Thibaut Evrard (No Man’s Land, Kaboul, The Sentinels), Anna Pieri Zuercher(Best Actress Award for Double Vie), Luà na Bajrami (Cesar nominee for Portrait of a Lady on Fire), Younès Boucif (Magnetic Beats, Standing Up), Léonie Simaga (37 Seconds, Skin Deep), Jérémy Lewin (HPI, Of Money and Blood), Zineb Triki (The Bureau, Homeland), and Frédéric Pierrot (In Treatment, Les Misérables, La Peste).
The series is produced by Alva Film in co-production with RTS, Hélicotronc, and Ikonë Studio. It is directed by Romain Graf (Station Horizon, Helvetica, winner of Best French-Language Series at La Rochelle), who co-created it with Chloé Devicq (Ethernel).
Federation International holds worldwide rights to the series.
