Cottonwood’s AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS coming out in UK & Irish cinemas in August

Vertigo Releasing has announced the acquisition of AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS. They will be releasing the animated family film widely in UK and Irish cinemas on 20th August.

Produced by Cottonwood Media in co-production with STUDIOCANAL, the film is directed by Academy Award® Nominee Samuel Tourneux (Even Pigeons Go to Heaven) and written by Gerry Swallow (Ice Age 2: The Meltdown), based on Jules Verne’s classic novel of the same name. Vertigo Releasing has acquired the rights from STUDIOCANAL who is handling international sales. The film was animated by Circus (France) and Mac Guff (Belgium – the animation studio behind Despicable Me).

Synopsis: Passepartout is a young and scholarly marmoset who has always dreamt of becoming an explorer. One day, he crosses paths with Phileas, a reckless and greedy frog, eager to take on a bet to circumnavigate the globe in 80 days and earn 10 million clams in the process. Seizing the opportunity of a lifetime to explore the world, Passepartout and his new friend embark on a crazy and exhilarating adventure, full of surprises.
