Eric Rochant’s MAUI ENTERTAINMENT (in association with FEDERATION STUDIOS) continues to ramp up activities

MAUI ENTERTAINMENT’s first production TOUT VA BIEN by Camille de Castelnau to debut on Disney+ on November 15

Paris, 13th October, 2023

Eric Rochant – screenwriter, director, producer, showrunner, and Pascal Breton, Founder & President of Federation Studios, continue their association through Maui Entertainment, as Rochant moves into the next phase of his company’s growth.

Created by award-winning film director Eric Rochant (The Patriots, Love Without Pity, The Bureau..) Maui Entertainment focuses on supporting talent and showrunners in the creation of international series, benefiting from Rochant and his team’s unparalleled expertise, as well as Federation’s extensive global reach.

Maui Entertainment’s first series TOUT VA BIEN (Everything is Fine) created by Camille de Castelnau, will launch on Disney+ on November 15.  The stellar cast features Virginie Efira, Sara Giraudeau, Nicole Garcia, Aliocha Schneider, Bernard Le Coq, Eduardo Noriega, Yannik Landrein… The 8-part series is directed by Eric Rochant, Xavier Legrand, Cathy Verney and Audrey Estrougo.  This week, Disney+ released the first trailer for the series. And the screenplay for Season Two of TOUT VA BIEN is also currently underway.

Further to this, Maui Entertainment is in production on Eric Rochant’s latest projects, which include a gripping spy series (an ambitious international co-production).

The prodco is also developing Someone Should Ban Sunday Afternoons, a modern-day French series set in Paris, created by Isabel COIXET for ARTE.  The Spanish screenwriter and director who created the series Foodie Love for HBO and directed more than fifteen feature films in Spain and the U.S., has rarely been out of the news, having recently helmed Un Amor currently screening in many international film festivals prior to its release.

About Eric Rochant:

Eric Rochant is a French author, director, producer and showrunner. After studying philosophy, he joined IDHEC (now FEMIS). 

In 1989, his first feature film Un Monde sans Pitié (Love without Pity), was an instant hit which delighted critics and went on to win numerous awards such as the Louis-Delluc Prize for Best Film, the Critic’s Prize in Venice, a César Award for Best First Feature, and César for Most Promising Actor for Yvan Attal.  Attal also took the lead role in two other Rochant films –  Aux yeux du Monde (In the Eyes of the World) released in 1991 inspired by a news article, and Les Patriotes (The Patriots),which featured in competition during the 1994 Cannes Film Festival and explores the intriguing world of the Israeli secret service.

He later expanded into a variety of genres such as the dreamlike psychological chiller Anna Oz (1996), the comedy Vive La République (1997), the offbeat thriller Total Western (2000), as well as L’Ecole pour Tous (The School for All) released in 2006, a heart-warming story starring Ariée Elmaleh about a school dropout who returns to class, but this time as a teacher!

Eric Rochant marked his first foray into television with Mafioso (season 2 and 3) for CANAL+, then returned to cinema with Möbius (2023), Jean Dujardin and Cécile de France fall in love against the backdrop of story of espionage, which also stars Tim Roth and Emilie Dequenne. Continuing his passion for the spy genre, in 2014 he began working on Le Bureau des Légendes (The Bureau) for CANAL+, 5 seasons consisting each of 10 episodes (2015 – 2020), a global hit worldwide as well as in France. A cult series for millions of fans and international critics, Le Bureau des Légendes (The Bureau), in terms of spy series reigns supreme, and regularly ranked in the top 5 best international series by The New York Times.

He later went on to establish his production company Maui Entertainment, in association with Federation Studios.
