Federation event series BARDOT continues to charm audiences both domestically and internationally, resulting in a huge hit on NETFLIX (France), as well as being snapped up globally by key broadcasters.
The biopic series which explores French star Brigitte Bardot’s youth, charting her rise to fame, is created and directed by Danièle Thompson and Christopher Thompson. Producers are Pascal Breton and Judith Rochelois for France Televisions and Mediaset. Whilst rising star Julia de Nunez dazzled the world with her portrayal of Brigitte Bardot.
The series launched on NETFLIX on August 23rd, and less than one week into its run on NETFLIX France, Benelux, Germany, Switzerland and Germany, BARDOT has shot into NETFLIX’s top 10 in most of these countries: #3 most viewed series in France and Belgium, #4 in Luxemburg, #6 in Switzerland and The Netherlands.
This success follows on from BARDOT’s impressive performance ratings on France 2 last May, which attracted 3.2 million viewers per episode on average, with outstanding results on catch-up.

In Europe, the series was recently sold to AMC Iberia in Spain, TVP in Poland, Nova in Greece, MTVA in Hungary, RTVS in Slovaquia, LTV and Tet+ in Latvia, ERR in Estonia and Finch Media, distributor for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia.
Negotiations are on their way in other Europeans and English-speaking countries.
These sales adds up to those already announced: NETFLIX in France, Germany, Benelux and Switzerland, Turkey (Turkcell), Sweden (SVT), Finland (YLE), Norway (NRK), Portugal (NRK), Czech Republic (Czech TB) and Canada (CBC + Radio Canada).
BARDOT will get its U.S. Premiere at the American French Film festival (TAFFF) in Los Angeles this October. The series is also competing in the festival « Best Series » Award category. Actress Julia de Nunez, who stars as Brigitte Bardot was also recently awarded with International Golden Nymph For Most Promising Talent award at the 62nd Monte-Carlo Television Festival last June.
