Federation Studios picks up distribution rights to THE MORNING AFTER

A 8×30’ drama series produced by Paradoxal and Both Worlds

Cannes, April 9th, 2024

Federation Studios is bringing to Miptv THE MORNING AFTER (8 X 30′), a comedy drama series produced by Paradoxal and Both Worlds with SWR – ARD FabFiction and Prime Video Africa.  The series will premiere in sub-saharan Africa on Prime Video and in Germany on ARD’s SVOD service Mediatek.

The series stars award winning up and comer British actress Amara Okereke (The Lost Lands, Red Rose) and young local ensemble talent including Gaosi Raditholo, Carmen Pretorius, Richard Gau, Tarryn Wyngaard and Danica Jones.

With plenty of humor and a touch of sexiness, THE MORNING AFTER tackles the very universal and topical subjects of addictions, personal relationships, and creating a life of your own. When 25-year-old Birmingham party-girl Nina Morgan wakes up naked on a beach in sunny Cape Town, South Africa, about 6000 miles from home and with all of her stuff missing, it’s clear things haven’t gone to plan. A bunch of young and eccentric local misfits who share a cottage by the beach quickly rescue her from that immediate predicament and help her exact revenge on the asshole who did this to her, but ultimately Nina’s going to have to be the one to rescue herself from herself. Each episode of the series starts «the morning after », with a bombshell moment, then steps back to discover how our characters ended up here.

THE MORNING AFTER is produced by Paris based Paradoxal and Cape Town based Both Worlds Pictures. Created by Thierry Cassuto and Karen Jeynes, the series is directed by Cindy Lee (Girls of St Agnes, Desert Rose) and Karen Jeynes (Recipes for Love and Murder), with executive producers Rémy Jacquelin for Paradoxal, and Thierry Cassuto, Karen Jeynes and Thato Cassuto for twice International Emmy Awards nominated Both Worlds Pictures.  It is produced with the support of the South African Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (DTIC), and with Natixis-Coficiné providing cash flow finance. The eight-part TV series was filmed in Cape Town South Africa and vicinity.
