Paris, January 31st, 2022
For Immediate release
Federation Entertainment continues to expand its global reach by joining forces with French leading production company Bonne Pioche.
The two groups, who both operate independently of any broadcaster, will now be able to share their complementary expertise in production and distribution.
Federation Entertainment has acquired a 51% stake in Bonne Pioche, which retains full editorial freedom. The deal covers all production activities, from development to delivery, as well as back office and international sales.
Bonne Pioche, headed by Yves Darondeau and Emmanuel Priou, is very active in the production of dramas and documentaries for cinema and television, in the recording of live shows, in the international distribution of documentaries, and in music supervision and publishing. Two years ago, the company – whose name means “Good call!” or “Good choice!” in French – launched its fiction series production activity for traditional broadcasters and streaming platforms. Under the new agreement, Bonne Pioche’s current team of 36 permanent staff members will remain unchanged, still operating from their Paris offices in the 11th arrondissement.
The move is the latest in a stream of worldwide acquisitions for Federation Entertainment, headed by Pascal Breton and Lionel Uzan. The company has established itself as major player in the audiovisual sector, particularly in the international production and distribution of fiction, animation and feature films.
Yves Darondeau and Emmanuel Priou said: « We are very happy and proud to be associated with Pascal Breton and Lionel Uzan, whom we have known for a long time. We look forward to bringing together the best creators to nourish our original and diversified editorial content. We are very excited about this new stage in the life of Bonne Pioche. What drives us is our desire to be as close as possible to the talents we support. Bonne Pioche is defined by our team on one hand and the great diversity of our productions of documentaries, comedies, genre films and shows on the other hand. Our complicity with Pascal and Lionel and the complementarity of their teams will allow us to give even more ambition to our projects, to offer wide audiences unique programs in line with our humanistic values.”
Pascal Breton and Lionel Uzan said: « Emmanuel and Yves are true craftsmen. They and their teams are capable of developing the riskiest projects and turning them into success stories like their Oscar for March of the Penguins. This « artisan adventurer » approach is essential for us and responds to the current desire of networks and platforms to share great documentaries, series and cinema films that are increasingly original and ambitious. This is why we are so happy that the entire Bonne Pioche team is joining the Federation galaxy to support the greatest talents in their future projects in France and abroad.”
