The incredible story of Nadia Nadim, the former Afghan refugee who became a star player for the PSG.
By Anissa Bonnefont, the acclaimed director of Wonder Boy on CANAL + (César-nominated and winner of Tribeca Film Festival Best Documentary Feature – Special Jury Mention in 2020).
How do you rebuild your life when you lose your father and your country at 8 years old? This is the life journey of Nadia Nadim, a young Afghan woman whose father was killed by the Taliban in 2000, forcing her, her mother and her four sisters to flee, like millions of Afghans.
Nadia’s passion for soccer was her saving grace. She became a star player for the national team of her adopted country, Denmark, then for the PSG women’s team.
Now Nadia wants to return to Afghanistan and to renew memories of her father. Nadia’s goals extend far beyond football. This multi-lingual young woman is very committed to NGOs that support women, education and refugee children. She is also a future surgeon. What Nadia
wants more than anything else, is to repair humanity.
