The Masters of Rome

In 1513, the city of Rome welcomed a new Pope, Leo X. He took power over the Eternal City, which was undergoing a major urban transformation. Many artists were busy with this colossal construction project. Three great masters of painting were to be found in the same city at the same time: Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael and Michelangelo.
