Producer Gabriel Dang creates LATITUDE, his own production label federation Studios

Gabriel Dang, producer at Federation Studios since 2021, launches his own production label, LATITUDE.

With Lionel Uzan, Gabriel Dang recently produced the HBO Max series Reformed (French title Le Sens des Choses), adapted from the book Vivre avec nos Morts by Delphine Horvilleur and created by Noé Debré and Benjamin Charbit, in competition at Series Mania and available on HBO Max from March 28th.

By making the author-producer tandem the driving force behind the creation of its works, Latitude aims to bring to the screen series with a strong identity, imbued with the vision of their authors, and an independent auteur cinema that is both demanding and generous. Reformed is a good example of this ambition: the series bears a distinctive signature, deals with a profound subject, while appealing to a wide audience.

Ucoming slate reflects both the eclecticism of Latitude’s aspirations and the singularity of its choices. These include a comedy-drama series about couples in the world of theater, and a 6-episode action thriller set during the Occupation. And for the cinema, Katell Quillévéré’s next film, Cancan, in co-production with Les films du Bélier, about the true story of a world-famous dance invented by free women in Belle Époque Paris.

Gabriel Dang, producer and director of Latitude: “The films and series developed by Latitude are built on the sincerity of their creators’ convictions and cultivate a sensitivity to contemporary audiences. Among the advanced projects, one explores theatrical creation, another blurs the boundary between ethics and morality, and Cancan offers an unprecedented female perspective. All are highly subjective projects that stand out for their original narrative approaches and complex characters”.

Before joining Federation Studios in 2021 to develop and produce films and series, Gabriel Dang began his career in cinema in 2012 at Agat Films & Cie. After a spell in distribution at SND in 2015, he was director of development and production at WY Productions, with whom he accompanied a dozen feature films.
